Rescue dinosaurs in this adventure

Dinosaurs: Mission Dino Camp is a premium adventure experience from ActaLogic and Wild River Games. Built on the globally popular schleich DINOSAURS toy line, you join Team Dino and embark on a 3D Amazon jungle. You are tasked with locating and rescuing the large, prehistoric creatures. Expect lush forests, raging rivers, and forgotten temples for ancient civilizations.

Top Recommended Alternative

The exploration aspect in Dinosaurs: Mission Dino Camp makes it feel like an easier alternative to Tomb Raider, and the toyline makes it immediately appealing to collectors, the same with LEGO and the LEGO Marvel’s Avengers game.

The toyline brought to life

As mentioned, Dinosaurs: Mission Dino Camp is based on the DINOSAURS toyline by schleich, the German maker of toys and figurines. Collectors of the toys will be delighted to find the very same dinosaurs brought to life. This game features full 3D designs and animation work intended to reimagine what it would be like if those figures were actual, living creatures — and the sizes and proportions were definitely done right.

It also works as a family-friendly video game. You have this massive forest location that’s filled with a variety of landscapes: ravines, rivers, mountains, and massive plains. This is matched by the range of activities you get to do: drive ATVs, run and hide from dinosaurs, rebuild bridges or scale mountainsides. The game even features a good and engaging soundtrack.

Still, it’s worth managing your expectations. The graphics are not as stellar as the Tomb Raider reboot, or any of the Uncharted games. Some movement animations are clunky but not bad enough to make you want to quit the game entirely. It’s still enjoyable and mostly well-optimized with reasonable system requirements. Also, the game can feel repetitive as it starts reusing puzzles and mission types later in the game.

A massive treat for schleich fans

If you’ve collected the classic toys, then Dinosaurs: Mission Dino Camp is the perfect opportunity to experience a world with them. Despite its graphical restrictions, it’s still a fun video game to check out, thanks to the effort to create a fully 3D world and bring the dinosaurs to life. The set designs, although not as lifelike as modern AAA titles, are still impressive to look at and travel across.
